Introduction

In the property management sector, the most important factors of success are efficiency and accuracy in handling contracts, maintenance requests, tenant onboarding, and compliance documents. In order to streamline these processes, a commercial estate management firm, Max Barney, asked us to implement WEBCON BPS, a low-code platform known for its workflow automation capabilities. 

Max Barney’s IT support provider set up the server for us and allowed us access to the server to configure the WEBCON solution, and they would remain in control of backups, patching, and overall reliability. 

Over time, Max Barney transferred full support of the WEBCON server over to us, in order for us to better support the environment, and take ownership of their infrastructure and disaster recovery. The server still sits in their tenant, with us accessing it via external access, an important collaborative feature provided by Microsoft Entra ID. 

Challenges

Max Barney’s WEBCON environment is critical to the business, so they rightfully wanted assurance that we could fully support the product, keep it reliable and maintain high availability in the case of a disaster. 

They asked us to be their support partner for the WEBCON resources in their Azure environment, and keep a close eye on system backups. 

Our Solution

Dolphin IT Solutions immediately worked with Max Barney’s IT support provider to gain access to the WEBCON resources in their Azure tenant and begin inspecting the environment. 

We ensured that SQL backups were in place for the database server, with a full backup taken nightly, and hourly differential backups during working hours. 

We also installed our server backup solution onto the server, to snapshot the hard drive every night. To ensure the backups are cost-effective and have a minimal impact on performance, we scheduled a full snapshot every week, and a differential snapshot every night. 

Our backup solutions tie into a report that our support team receives daily; if there is a problem taking a backup during the night, our team will go into the environment immediately to rectify the issue. 

Since gaining full control and visibility over the environment, we have been able to ensure that the WEBCON solution we delivered for The Max Barney Estate continues to be reliable and maintainable for years to come.
